What this policy covers
Vuelta is an iPhone app for creating and reviewing Spanish or English vocabulary cards, and this policy also covers the Vuelta marketing website at getvuelta.app.
Liquid Software LLC is registered in Wyoming. Vuelta is intended for people of all ages and is designed not to require an account or collect personal information from the app itself.
Information sent for AI generation
AI-assisted card generation is a core Vuelta feature and requires a user-owned Gemini API credential. When the user requests generation, Vuelta sends these items directly from the device to Gemini:
- the word or phrase entered by the user;
- the selected or detected input language, learning target, explanation language, and Spanish/English regional preferences;
- Vuelta’s instructions for producing translations, context, and examples; and
- the API key belonging to the user’s account with that provider.
Vuelta does not send the user’s deck, review history, spaced-repetition state, or unrelated device data as part of a generation request. Vuelta does not operate a proxy server for these requests and does not receive or retain a copy of them on a developer-controlled server.
For Gemini requests, Vuelta asks Google not to retain the request as a stored Interaction. This does not override Google’s service terms, abuse monitoring, free-tier data-use rules, or other Google-controlled processing. Gemini requests remain subject to Google’s current terms and privacy practices.
Credentials, quota, and charges
The Gemini API key is stored in an iOS Keychain item and is used only for Gemini requests. Vuelta does not contain a shared developer API key and does not silently fall back to another provider. Usage consumes the user’s Gemini quota and may result in Google charges.
Keychain storage protects credentials at rest on the device, but a mobile app must retrieve a key to make a direct request. A client-side key therefore cannot have the secrecy of a key kept on a trusted server. Users should create a dedicated key, restrict it to the required API where the provider supports restrictions, monitor its use, and revoke or replace it through the provider if the device or key may be compromised.
Local data
Cards, review history, preferences, and Gemini settings are stored locally on the device. Deleting the app may delete its local app data subject to iOS behavior. Removing the Gemini key in Vuelta removes the app’s stored Keychain item but does not close the Google account or revoke the key at Google; revocation must be completed through Google.
Offline exports and restoration
Users may explicitly export cards and review history through Files. Exported decks contain learning content and saved learning profiles, but never provider keys. Files leave app storage only when the user chooses an export destination; that destination may sync them under its own settings. Restoration replaces the deck after confirmation and saves a local safety copy first. Diagnostic exports preserve inconsistent data for recovery and cannot be restored directly.
Purchases
If a user purchases Vuelta, Apple processes the App Store transaction. Vuelta receives the entitlement information needed to unlock the app, but Liquid Software LLC does not receive the user’s full payment-card details. Apple’s terms and privacy practices apply to App Store transactions.
Marketing website
The marketing website does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, error tracking, or tracking cookies. The site does not sell personal information.
The website uses ordinary hosting and internet infrastructure. Those providers may process technical information needed to deliver a web page, such as a request’s IP address, browser information, and access time, under their own policies.
Support requests
The support form exists solely to address user issues. If a user submits a request, the form sends the user’s email address, issue type, optional app version and iPhone model, and message to Formspree, our form-processing provider.
We use the email address only to ask follow-up questions and respond to the support request. We do not use support addresses for marketing or sell them. Formspree may process submissions for delivery, spam prevention, and service operation under its own privacy policy.
Please do not include passwords, API keys, payment details, or other sensitive information in a support request.
Gemini policies and choices
Google’s terms, retention, safety processing, limits, and billing may change. Users can generate cards with Gemini or enter cards manually when they do not want to generate a card. Vuelta does not treat Google sign-in as permission to administer a user’s Google Cloud account.
Privacy questions and requests
For questions about this policy or a support submission, contact support@liquidsoftware.io. If you ask us to delete a support request, we will delete the copy we control unless we need to retain it for a legitimate legal or security reason. Formspree may retain its copy according to its own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Vuelta’s data practices change. We will update the “Last updated” year and publish the revised policy at this URL.
